On a graph sheet, mark the x-axis and y-axis and the origin O. Mark points from to on the x-axis and from to on the y-axis. (Use the scale 1 cm = 1 unit.) Using Fig. 1.5, answer the given questions.
Place Reiaan’s rectangular study table with three of its feet at the points , and .
(i) Where will the fourth foot of the table be?
(ii) Is this a good spot for the table?
(iii) What is the width of the table? The length? Can you make out the height of the table?

Given:
An axis-aligned rectangular footprint.
To Find:
Fourth foot, dimensions and what the plan tells us.
Property:
Opposite sides of a rectangle share coordinate levels.
Solution:
The missing corner combines x = 8 with y = 7: .
Horizontal length = 11 − 8 = 3 ft; vertical width = 9 − 7 = 2 ft.
The footprint fits in the shown room, to the right of the bed. Practical suitability still needs access and clearances to be checked.
A floor plan does not give the table’s height.
Results:
Fourth foot ; footprint 3 ft × 2 ft; height cannot be inferred.
